Tagged nodebox python cool
So I've been playing around with this cool python application that lets you create 2d graphics really easily. I first heard about Nodebox from why's most recent blog and my eyes instantly started drooling. You really out to check out their gallery..

So it occurred to me last night that I haven't been as diligent in updating this thing as I had promised. So, Happy belated Thanksgiving, etc. Yes, I'm still around (no, I didn't get burned down with those fires)..

So apparently there's this pretty big brush fire less than three miles away from my house. There's been constant sounds of sirens and helicopters all afternoon. So far, there hasn't been any evacuation orders, but then again I can't seem to find any news source talking about this. With most of Southern California already burning, they're too busy talking about the other fires..

Tagged xen howto
This is going to be the first in a series of posts that describe a recent server build-out that I did involving creating a xen cluster in centos. It'll describe how I've split the server into separate vms, created an nfs share between them, distributed services while installing to a centralized location, and established service vms for stuff like static, dynamic and rails application web hosting..

Okay, so it's no secret that my wife and I watch alot of TV. Shockingly enough, most of them are indeed shows on Fox. Whether it's Bones, House, Kitchen Nightmares, or Family Guy (and that's just this season); tonight we also watched The Next Great American Rockband. And no, the point of this email isn't to be a commentary on any of the shows (so save it for another flame war); I was wondering if anyone else had noticed these... "Red Dots" the last couple weeks. ..

Tagged rails monit mongrel ruby
I just got done configuring this rails application (kaneda.net) to be monitored by monit. Monit will now watch my mongrel children and make sure they're playing nice. If they're not, I'll get an email stating so. Then, a few moments later, another email is received stating that it was able to fix the problem..

Tagged waferbaby cms
So I've spoken with dan about branching his svn into something that's a little easier digested for the unwashed masses (yea, that's you).
I'll have more on this soon; there's a few tweaks I want to make before I'm ready to re-release the waferbaby cms as something for download. Stay tuned.

Tagged reset
I've decided to start with a fresh new CMS and a totally blank slate. I'm tired of toiling with cms applications that don't work, but this one is definitely tried and true.
Anyway, I'm back. The bad news is that due to a horrible accident, I won't be able to import any of the realllly old posts from the other blogs I've used over the years. Oh well, who cares what I had to say in college anyway?
Here's to the brave new world of starting fresh.
